3D MODELING

3D Modeling is a form of art that is widely used across many industries and is a very sought after career. Architects, engineers, healthcare professionals, educators and many more can all take advantage of this art form. However, it is more often known for its impact in the entertainment world. Video games, movies, and TV shows all use 3D models to build worlds, characters, and environments. In this workshop, students will use Tinkercad, an online 3D design and modeling tool, to practice fundamentals like designing shapes, scaling, rotating, and combining objects to build complex models. In the end, students will have a 3D project, a better sense of spatial reasoning, and the foundational knowledge to continue their 3D designs at home.

3D SCULPTING

3D sculpting is a form of 3D modeling similar to traditional clay sculpting, but within a virtual three-dimensional space. It is utilized for organic modeling, in which living things (such as people, creatures, and nature) are created. This type of art allows artists to bring to life characters and environments that leave impactful memories on their audiences. In this workshop, students will apply the tools and concepts of digital sculpting to their own creation. They will use tools and a digital base of clay to shape and structure their 3D model. At the end of the day, they will walk away with an understanding of the different types of 3D modeling, and the importance each one plays to the success of the 3D industry.
